Welcome
Welcome to the Little Rock Landlords Association website. We invite you to become active in our organization. We are a diverse group of landlords, from those owning a single rental property to those who own several apartment complexes. However, we all have the same goal: to become more successful landlords.
We work on a variety of issues, ranging from enhancing profitability to improving the community and neighborhoods in which we live and rent properties.
We invite key leaders to illuminate us on laws, policies and programs that help us become more successful landlords. Some of our recent speakers include:
Little Rock District Criminal Court Judge Alice Lightle, who hears all the criminal notice to vacate complaints in the city.
Arkansas Fair Housing Commission Director Carol Johnson, who is charged with investigating and deciding every fair housing complaint in the state.
Little Rock Housing and Neighborhood Programs Director Andre Bernard, who oversees a staff of 80-plus dealing with code enforcement, grant programs, and neighborhood programs throughout the city.
Little Rock Housing Authority Housing Choice Voucher Program Director Pam Williams, who disburses over $800,000 per month to Little Rock landlords.
We also invite vendor speakers to every one of our meetings to give us a roster of service providers that are appropriate for our industry.
We are working on developing a “Landlords Bible” that is growing chapter by chapter to provide guidance on particular areas of interest to landlords. These chapters will be published online in the near future, so please check back to this website frequently.
We also have an active political action committee that in conjunction with our association’s lobbyist monitors legislative activities, raises and distributes funds to political candidates, supports proposed laws that assist us with good government and opposes interests that could be harmful to us as landlords or to our tenants.
Perhaps most importantly, we are a professional network that allows you to develop colleagues and friends to contact when you come across something new in your business and need advice from someone who has experience with your issue.
I invite you to our next meeting which will be the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Ciao’s Italian Restaurant and to become an active member. It is the best $50 you will ever spend as a landlord.
Most sincerely,
Jason Bolden
President
